From Prisons to Preschools the Lord is at work!

Just up the road from Ntarama Genocide Memorial site where 10,000 people were massacred in a church is this prison with about 3000 prisoners, 1200 of which are Genocide perpetrators. This was my second visit with Pastor Deo, Director of Prison Fellowship Rwanda, and as is the custom, we delivered some sugar and soap for the sick. Many people remembered me from the previous visit. Sewing graduation, Preschool “Angels”

 Gerrit has been in Rwanda for two weeks now and has had a variety of opportunities on a daily basis ranging from visiting a preschool to preaching at a prison in Bugusera and seeing 100’s come to the Lord. Gerrit in Rwanda and New Video Posted

On February 4th Gerrit flew to Rwanda. He’s currently in the Kimonyi Reconciliation Village.  More news to come soon, but, in the meanwhile, his son Thabo has sent us a video he created. This short (7-minute) video shows how a group of dancers – Iterero Ubumwe– transcends the ravages of Rwanda’s genocide. They live together as Hutus and Tutsis in Kimonyi Reconciliation Village and travel around Rwanda spreading their message of love, unity, and hope.
