Gerrit reports from Rwanda: On Sunday (August 1st), 23 denominations came together: there were hundreds of people and singing groups, and many powerful speakers. I need to be ready for when Bishop Geoffrey picks me up tomorrow at 4 am! We plan to go into the bush – and up the mountains. He needs to do confirmations and I will preach. Gerrit’s first report from Rwanda

My week has been full of emotions and I will probably only be able to process everything much later. My days are long but I feel blessed. The visits to the 2 Genocide Memorials were intense. How evil can the human heart be, and to think that so much evil was committed in  churches! I am glad that I could then visit the Reconciliation Village where people who were raped and whose families were murdered now live alongside the murderers in the homes they built for them.
