Gerrit has been in Rwanda for two weeks now and has had a variety of opportunities on a daily basis ranging from visiting a preschool to preaching at a prison in Bugusera and seeing 100’s come to the Lord. We’ll have more news on the time at the prison soon. In the meanwhile, when he first arrived in Rwanda, Gerrit visted the Kimonyi Village of Practical Reconciliation to take part in the graduation of 9 ladies newly qualified in sewing ( the 10th lady suddenly sadly passed away a week or so earlier). Her husband received her certificate on her behalf. (see photo on the below).

They are about to start their own sewing coop, having already started taking orders for school uniforms, etc., in the village.  They need to rent a building, buy materials, a machine to finish their work on the foot-powered machines, and such. We have provided the seed capital through a generous donor from South Africa, but still need to buy 10 machines for the new class for a total of  $1500 ($150 each).  Prayers and donations are welcome.  To donate, click on the button below or simply send a check to: The WordFAN, P.O. LITTLE ANGELS.  The next week Gerrit visited a new preschool and he writes:

“On Monday I visited a new pre-school, ‘Little Angels,’ close to the Village of Reconciliation at Mboyo, and run by Prison Fellowship Rwanda. There are 116 ‘Little Angels’, ages 3-5, being schooled by two teachers in two very small classrooms.  I felt overwhelmed watching these teachers trying to keep some semblance of order. I realized once again that the needs in this country are overwhelming to the human eye.  I despaired, I wept and said,’God I can’t do this; this place is overwhelming me!!’  I heard God say,’What is impossible to man, is possible with Me. Just be obedient, leave the burden at the foot of the Cross.  My yoke is easy and my burden is light.’  That is all I can do. He shows the need, I make it known, He touches hearts.  Please pray for the ‘Little Angels.'”
